Continuing Education Classes


Yoga Fundamentals

Dates:  Fridays – September 8 and 15; October 20 and 27

Times:  7:00 – 8:30 PM

Location: University of Cincinnati, Teachers College, Room 600 (2602 Clifton Avenue, Clifton)

Instructor:  Karenna Miller

This class will guide participants in the understanding and practice of yoga. Yoga mats are provided as needed.  We will engage in the physical practice of yoga – preparing the body, stretching and strengthening, and then relaxing.  This course is intended for people with and without previous yoga experience, and people with and without disabilities. 

Service learning Projects

Date:  Saturday, September 30

Time:  10:30 AM – 1:00 PM

Place:  GormanFarm, 10052 Reading Road, Evendale 

Learn more about this 122 acre urban working farm and its mission to educate the public, especially children, as to the importance of agriculture, nutrition, sustainability, and the environment.  Assist the Farm with weeding and raking as they prepare for fall and winter.

Date:  Saturday, November 11

Time:  9:00 AM – 12:30 PM

Place:  Meet at PWC Offices, 4612 Paddock Road, Bond Hill and then carpool to local residents’ house to work on their lawns and homes.  

Join hundreds of volunteers organized by People Working Cooperatively that fan out across Cincinnati and rake leaves and clean for residents who are elderly or have disabilities. 

st. xavier canned food drive

Date:  Sunday, November 19

Time:  12:15 – 2:30 service project; 2:45 – 4:00 visit to nearby coffee house to reflect

Location:  Meet at Central Bank, 2075 Dixie Highway, Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky (Exit 188 on I-75)

The Advent Canned Food Drive at St. Xavier High School collects and delivers non-perishable food items to thousands of families in both Cincinnati and rural Appalachia. he St. X students will be going door to door in northern Kentucky to collect canned goods from residents, and they have invited us to help.

Please come and visit any of our classes to see if they are a fit for you. If you decide to take part in more than one class, service project or theatrical play this year, we will ask you to become a member of Marjorie Book. Members complete a member application and pay an annual membership fee of $65. (A low income fee is available, if needed). If you need help with transportation, please contact us. We may have volunteers that can help.
